I wish I lived in Washington state so I could vote for this ballot initiative today:
The ballot initiative is legit. I pulled the information from the Washington Secretary of State’s website, which also includes this longer summary (and the complete text in PDF):
The initiative would carry no force of law because Washington’s state seal can only be changed by constitutional amendment, but a vote for Initiative 1069 is a great way to make a statement. I love America! Filed under: Government and Just For Laughs and News & Politics Comments:

[...] An initiative: This measure would require the Washington State Seal to depict a tapeworm attached to a taxpayer’s intestine, encircled by the words: Committed to sucking the life blood out of each and every taxpayer. [...]

[...] From Washington state: This measure would require the seal of the State of Washington to be changed to depict a vignette of a tapeworm dressed in a three-piece suit attached to the lower intestine of a taxpayer shown as the central figure. The seal would be required to be encircled with the following words: “Committed to sucking the life blood out of each and every tax payer.” The illustration would be selected from submissions submitted by taxpayers. I’m a Washington resident, attorney as well. I can assure you there was no ballot initiative like this on our ballots today. You have been conned pure and simple. You might check your sources more carefully in the future.

Here are all the ballot initiatives that were on the ballot today in Wa State:

The one you are so gleeful about was presented to the Sec’y of state in the spring but did not meet approval, either not enough signatures or too many signatures were forgery. Same way the intiative to legalize marijuana failed.
Again check your sources more carefully. As a Washington resident, and someone who lived in KY for a number of years, I am generally happier with the politics here than in the south.

We need to spread that initiative around the country to all the states!

You guys want to go live where there are no government encumbrances? Russia after the fall of the wall was once place that had no government for quite a while. See how well that worked?

to moe99 - there was no forgery issue on the tapeworm initiative. It was intended to make a statement. You attorneys think you know everything. I have learned that often you should be the ones checking out your sources.
