This is going viral on Facebook. I don’t know who wrote it, but it captures the spirit of a solid majority of the country not only this week but for more than a year:
I have to say that as a writer, I would hate it if I wrote something that clever and it traveled all over the Internet without my name on it. This is what reminded me of the “The Bill Of No Rights” more than a decade after I unraveled that Internet copyright mystery. I just saw Dr. Seuss’s Message to Uncle Sam on facebook today, and I posted it also with a link back to you to indicate that no one seems to know who the writer is. If you unravel this mystery, I’d like to be informed.

I am not sure exactly how I got here, too many link clicks, I think… but thanks for the above post! I have stolen it and posted it on my facebook page with a link back to here. :)

Hi there, I’m the one who wrote it after the “vote” last week. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind words!

I do not like your seeds of hate,
Or when you say who cannot mate.
I will not draw a Hitler ‘stache,
I will not hate those who have no cash.
I do not like our people dying,
All because of Bush’s lying.
I will not buy into your war,
Because you’re evil at your core.
I wish you knew your economics,
I wish you’d get more hooked on phonics.
I do not want your god in school,
I do not want your guns, you fool.
I do not like to watch your FOX,
Their brains are made of tiny rocks.
I still believe in this one man,
I still believe in YES WE CAN.

Dr. Seuss was a liberal Democrat (but he did not cram that down your throat in his books) and would have been horrified at this crude abuse of his his work.
You have confused so many things into a big ball of hate and resentment (Congress steals Obama is bad Pelosi is wicked witch) that you cannot even see how your fury and mixed-up information just feeds into the liars and deceivers on the Right. Please read the delightful poem by Liz (above) and really think about it. A “solid majority” do not have the blind anger you claim for us. Good luck, and please be better informed and insisting that a difficult world be pure and simple—it isn’t.
