This is going viral on Facebook. I don’t know who wrote it, but it captures the spirit of a solid majority of the country not only this week but for more than a year:
I have to say that as a writer, I would hate it if I wrote something that clever and it traveled all over the Internet without my name on it. This is what reminded me of the “The Bill Of No Rights” more than a decade after I unraveled that Internet copyright mystery. I just saw Dr. Seuss’s Message to Uncle Sam on facebook today, and I posted it also with a link back to you to indicate that no one seems to know who the writer is. If you unravel this mystery, I’d like to be informed.

I am not sure exactly how I got here, too many link clicks, I think… but thanks for the above post! I have stolen it and posted it on my facebook page with a link back to here. :)

Hi there, I’m the one who wrote it after the “vote” last week. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind words!

I do not like your seeds of hate,
Or when you say who cannot mate.
I will not draw a Hitler ‘stache,
I will not hate those who have no cash.
I do not like our people dying,
All because of Bush’s lying.
I will not buy into your war,
Because you’re evil at your core.
I wish you knew your economics,
I wish you’d get more hooked on phonics.
I do not want your god in school,
I do not want your guns, you fool.
I do not like to watch your FOX,
Their brains are made of tiny rocks.
I still believe in this one man,
I still believe in YES WE CAN.
