On Christmas Day 2009, a would-be terrorist attempted to blow a jet airliner out of the sky by igniting a bomb built into his underwear. Had he succeeded, people wouldn’t be giving the terrorist, Omar Farouk Abdulmutallab, creative nicknames and cracking jokes about his “equipment.” But he failed, so he’s an easy target for ridicule. The terror plot has spawned at least two puns I’ve seen: Heard any others, or have ideas of your own? Include them in the comments. Or if you hate puns, include the ones you find particularly grating. Filed under: Just For Laughs and News & Politics Comments: None |

Via Instapundit comes this grand idea for a constitutional amendment:
A cursory Google search shows that the idea for what would be the 28th Amendment has been around since at least November. Odds are good that it is being driven at least in part by questions this year about whether Congress will exempt itself from a health-care system that would impose burdensome new mandates on others. On the surface, I like the proposal. Members of Congress for too long have exempted themselves from key laws they write for everyone else while at the same time bestowing upon themselves perks and benefits unavailable to your average enlightened redneck. I say it’s about time Congress start governing equally for goose and gander. That said, Americans should be wary of some of the arguments made to garner support for such an amendment. PolitiFact already has characterized as false the claim that Congress is planning to exempt itself from the plan for a national health-care system, and the proposed language for the 28th Amendment often is included with text that reads like this: Filed under: Government and News & Politics Comments: None |

I never learned to solve one Rubik’s Cube, let alone three of them in a few minutes. But this kid did it under the pressure of trying to win a challenge against a sportscaster. Filed under: Human Interest and Sports and Video Comments: None |
