• Good parenting: Dad hammers teen’s phone after mega-bill. Better parenting: no cell phones for kids.
• Carrie Underwood made a suggestive comment but later apologized. Good on her. Bad on CMT for saying it was unnecessary.
• Bible wisdom from @Jason_Hardin for Christians who blog, tweet and use Facebook.
• Barack Obama’s honeymoon is over. The evidence: the cheesy knick-knacks made in his image aren’t selling.
• How the Obamas “change” churches — send “White House aides and close friends of the family” as scouts.
• “Overseas contingency operations” … “man-caused disasters” … “men prone to disaster causation.” Just words from Obama.
• Has the right lost the culture war? They’re certainly losing by way of apathetic, conscious retreat. And this from @drjjoyner: “[F]uture generations are decidedly unlikely to ever become meaningfully ‘conservative.’” Sad but true.
• I collected unemployment in Virginia early this year. A friend staying with us still is. But I’m glad our state rebuffed President Obama.
• Earmarks hide and go seek. Utterly predictable. But let’s keep chasing the greased pig in Congress.
• @drjjoyner: “The Internet has turned virtually everyone into a potential public figure” — including Biden’s dog breeder.
• School choice works. That’s why Obama suppressed the truth as Congress moved to kill a successful program.
• A bare majority favors capitalism over socialism. Sadly, the change Obama promised already is here in spirit.
• Phoenix cops raided the home of a blogger who wrote an “unaccredited grassroots Web site” about bad Phoenix cops. Does that mean I can expect elitists to raid my enlightened redneck home someday?
• The Library of Congress on YouTube. Cool!
• The top 10 Nerf guns ever. Our son adds a new gun to his Christmas list each year. He even bought me one as a gift.
