The Obama States Of America
Posted on 01.18.09 by K. Daniel Glover @ 12:37 am

Michelle Malkin rightly decried a new U.S. flag that made its public debut today in Baltimore, at the first of many inaugural events for President-elect Barack Obama. His image, name and campaign logo are emblazoned on Old Glory.

By way of reminder, Michelle refers to the U.S. flag code: “The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.”

There’s no reason to believe that Obama, the candidate who for months was skittish about wearing a U.S. flag pin, is behind the flags. It appears to be just another sad case of Obamania run amok.

A Washington-based Internet marketing service called The Coaches Corner Online is selling the flag at Obama Store Online. Here’s what CEO Cynthia Roberts said about how the flag came to be:

Two Fridays before the election, I dreamed Obama stood on the Capitol steps to be sworn in as our 44th president of the United States. In that dream I saw millions of American supporters on the National Mall, as well as millions of people from around the world. This is an inauguration to be celebrated globally.

The dream showed everyone waving a special flag commemorating this historic event. I was so inspired by this dream that I set out to make this flag and make it available to people around the world who want to show their support for President Barack Obama.

This site, The Obama Store Online, represents my journey to fulfill this awesome dream. In addition to providing a flag, my objective is to buy affordable, high-quality commemorative items that will be sold in Washington, D.C., and make them available to everyone around the world. So if you plan to come to Washington for the inauguration or plan to stay at home with family and friends, I hope our products will help you celebrate this historic occasion and feel apart of this momentous event.

But Obama and his allies have worked hard to encourage worship of “The One.” Now that strategy has led to him being idolized on a sacred national symbol. Let’s hope his presidency, unlike the flag made in his image, is all about the country rather than all about him.

UPDATE, 1/18: The Obama flag referenced in this post has been pulled from the online store that was selling it. This has happened before with Obama worship. His fans engage in it, get criticized for their excesses and pull their praise off the Internet.

  1. There is a strain of behavior that says these people do not respect our nation and now they run it!

  2. That is disgusting. It makes me sick. There ought to be something we can do about that. What really gets me is the fact that he wouldn’t salute our flag, or a flag lapel pin, and now his image is on the flag.

  3. I guess the savior..er..Obama supporters don’t feel they need to abide by the U.S. Flag code. Not being laws, they can get away with defacing Old Glory. But I will tell you this…if I see a business flying that flag, I will be the FIRST to lodge a complaint with any and all city and county agencies I can contact. As a veteran, I will NOT stand by and see the flag representing the country I went to war for defaced in any way, shape or form.

  4. Thou shall not have any gods before me. 1 of the 10 commandments. This nation has committed idolatry and fornication with false gods. Pray for Mercy and protection because God will not share His Glory with another. This type of Brainlessness in worshiping a ‘man’ really makes me sad, mostly because a lot of so called “Christians” are in on it as well.
