A blogger has decided to pull the plug on his Facebook and Twitter accounts because he has “real things to do, and not nearly as much time to talk about doing them as I’m spending.” I like this description of why he feels compelled to make the online break:
I know the feeling. Ever since I started blogging, the laptop has become an extra appendage that may meld to my body before long. Facebook and Twitter have just added to the addiction. Over the holidays, my wife and I were looking through photographs of our dating, honeymoon and pre-children days and Kimberly said to our nine-year-old son: “See how adorable we were. Daddy was always touching and hugging on me.” Without pause, Anthony answered, “Now he’s always touching his laptop.” But I’ve gotten better over the past year at breaking free for family time — nightly Bible readings, board games, home-schooling and even a walk in the woods a few weeks ago. I guess that means I’m down to two meals of candy a day. (Hat tip to Melissa Clouthier) Filed under: Culture and Family and Technology Comments:

I can definitely relate to this story Danny. The one thing I would mention is that unlike eating candy three meals a day, you can actually turn this social media addiction into a job.
Like me and like you and like so many other bloggers I know who somehow turned their hobby/passion into a paying gig of some sort.
So look on the bright side, you aren’t a social media addict you are a workaholic.
