‘Don’t Ask Me No Questions’
Posted on 01.02.09 by Danny Glover @ 11:36 pm

Mary Katharine Ham of The Weekly Standard has released a new video with perfect timing for the debate I’ve been having in the comment section of my post about Dan Froomkin of The Washington Post.

Froomkin is wondering how, if at all, he and other watchdogs of the White House should change their standard of skepticism for Barack Obama. Some people in the comments, liberal journalism professor Jay Rosen included, have argued that President Bush was so determined to avoid tough questions from the press and to hide information from the public that he earned a tougher-than-usual standard. The question is whether Obama deserves the same standard.

This video, which reveals Obama as a future president not all that interested in revealing information to the press or the public, should help answer the question for them:

And remember, this is Obama’s attitude toward a media that treated him gently during the 2008 campaign, stampeded to buy commemorative copies of newspapers about his victory and can’t wait to “participate” in his inauguration.

If Obama won’t talk to the people who got him elected, who will he talk to?

  1. As an optimist (idiot), I have hopes that the media will eventually get bored and turn on Obama. Actually that’s probably more like a crazy dream. Here in Ct, Chris Dodd has been given a free pass and 47% think he’s doing a good job.

  2. And how meekly and obediently said media treated those commanding brushoffs. Our Leader has spoken, and we must wait for his next pronunciamento. Don’t interrupt, that’s disrespectful. Oh, he knows so well what to do, and he’ll organize our community just right.

  3. [...] much more evidence of a closed White House will the Dan Froomkins and Jay Rosens of the liberal media world need [...]
