Via BuzzMachine, I just learned of a creative journalism education program — and I’m thrilled to report that its being run by my alma mater, West Virginia University. The fascinating part of the program is that it connects current students with local newspapers in a way that benefits both. The students produce multimedia news reports for the newspapers as a way to learn videography and photography on the job, then they turn around and teach their newly found skills to the newshounds already in the workforce. It makes me wish I were working at a West Virginia newspaper again. OK, I’ve always wished I could afford to work at a West Virginia newspaper and support a family, but now I have an even better reason to think that way. Filed under: Media and West Virginia Comments:
