An enlightened redneck drinks diet soda instead of calorie-rich alternatives but still gets irritated when holier-than-thou politicians like New York Gov. David Paterson start pushing lame ideas like an “obesity tax.” Rednecks in New York and elsewhere should be allowed to drink their soda of choice without paying a nanny-state tax penalty. This is the dumbest idea in the world!!!
I used to work with women who drank diet sodas and ate every rich dessert they could get their hands on.
It takes more than sweet drinks to cause obesity and obesity is a complex poorly understood condition.
Bring back P.E.
Put the criminals in prison so kids can walk to school.
Make sure your kids are outside getting exercise, limit TV and video games.
Many actions people can take through personal responsibility.
This tax is a hypocritical idea because the main objective is to impose yet another tax.
